Jenny has been MD for 5 years, with Scala for 16 and in illustrated book publishing for 27 years. As MD for Scala, she has built up the client list both geographically and thematically, expanding the company’s reputation for expertise in publishing for the cultural and heritage world.
Director of Publications
Jennifer has worked in international art book publishing for over 25 years. She began her career working in sales and marketing for Abrams, Flammarion and Merrell. She has been commissioning art and illustrated books worldwide for Scala as the Director of Publications since 2000. She has been the head of the US office and all US operations since opening the New York office at the beginning of 2003.
Director of Business Development
Neil has worked in publishing for over 20 years, initially in Editorial and then in Business Development. For Scala he works on devising new publishing initiatives and is responsible for business across southern, central and eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. He also works with clients in Higher Education in the UK and US. Neil has a PhD in French and Latin literature and speaks several European languages.

Sales and Marketing Manager
Thom has been with Scala for two years and manages sales activities in Scandinavia and the Far East. He also develops marketing initiatives for all of Scala’s titles. Thom has six years of experience working for Japanese organisations and is fluent in Japanese.
Rosemarie has specialised in heritage publishing for 30 years. She was Sales Director and Deputy Managing Director at Pitkin Guides, and moved to Scala in 2001 where she takes care of UK cathedrals, castles and other heritage attractions.
Janet Gough OBE
Formerly Director of Cathedrals and Church Buildings for the Church of England, Janet is an expert on ecclesiastical heritage and has written two books [on cathedrals and church buildings] in the Director’s Choice series. Janet has worked at Sotheby’s, in the City and at other commercial and not-for-profit organisations and has an MA in History and History of Art from Cambridge.
Director of Production and Operations
Tim has over 30 years of publishing experience, starting as an estimator at William Collins in 1987, and has been the Production Director at Scala since the beginning of 2004.
Laura has specialised in non-fiction publishing for over 25 years. After starting her career at trade publisher Hodder & Stoughton, she spent ten years at the British Museum, overseeing their exhibition catalogues and collection books. She has worked at Scala for five years.
